The Somaliland Ohio Association (“SOA,” “we,” “us”) is an Ohio nonprofit corporation. You can reach us at slohioadmin@gmail.com with any questions about this policy or your information.
What we collect
We collect the information you choose to share with us through our website, primarily through the contact form, the membership form, and email sign-ups. That usually includes your name, email address, phone number, city, and the interests or programs you tell us you care about.
Third-party services
Our membership sign-ups are processed through Google Forms, which means the information you submit is also handled by Google under its own privacy policy. If we enable basic website analytics, those tools may collect aggregated, non-identifying information about how people use the site (such as pages visited and general location).
How we use your information
We use the information you share with us to respond to your questions, manage membership, send occasional organizational updates, and improve our programs. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Children’s privacy
Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. When minors participate in our programs, we obtain consent from a parent or guardian through separate written forms.
Photos and media
We sometimes take photos and video at our events and use them in our newsletters, social media, and other materials. We collect consent for that use through media release forms at events and during program sign-up.
Data retention and security
We keep the information you share with us only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as required by law. We take reasonable steps to protect it, though no method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure.
Access, updates, and deletion
You can ask us for a copy of the information we have about you, request corrections, or ask us to delete it. Email slohioadmin@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the revised version on this page and update the “last updated” date at the top.
